Safaris from Nairobi: The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. It ranges in altitude from 800 to 1230 m above sea level. The reserve is reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special).

It is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area. Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded. Birds of the arid northern bush country are augmented by a number of riverine forest species.

Lesser Kestrel and the Taita Falcon are species of global conservation concern and they both utilize the reserve. Five species categorized as vulnerable have recorded in the reserve. These are African Darter, Great Egret, White-headed Vulture, Martial Eagle and the Yellow-billed Ox-pecker.


Day 1 Mombasa – Tsavo West

You will be picked early in the morning at 0600Hrs from your hotel or at the airport and drive to Tsavo west. Arrive in time for game drive en-route to the lodge for lunch. After lunch proceed with game drive from 15:30Hrs until 6:30pm. Over 600 species of birds have been recorded. Animals include the leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, crocodile, mongoose, hyrax, dik dik and porcupine.

Day 1. Nairobi

You will be picked from the airport on arrival and transferred to Nairobi hotel of your choice for refreshing. Overnight at the hotel awaiting for your Nairobi Safaris.

Cold showers are available which are amazingly refreshing in the hot, dusty climates. Dinner & overnight at the camp

Day 2. Nairobi – mt: kenya – safaris from nairobi

You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning at 7:30am for your safari start. drive to mount Kenya national park arriving in good time for game viewing en-route to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will relax at the lodge or take a nature walk, this to be arranged from the lodge at extra cost. At lower altitudes, black-and-white colobus and other monkeys, and Cape buffaloes are prevalent. Wildlife to be seen here Includes Elephants, tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, suni, black fronted duiker, mole rat, bush bucks, water buck and Elands. Animals rarely seen include leopard, bongo, giant forest hog. Diner and overnight at Mountain Lodge

Day 3. Mt kenya – samburu – safaris from nairobi

Today you will leave Mt. Kenya after breakfast, and proceed to Samburu game reserve. Arrive in time for a mid-morning game drive until lunch time. Lunch will be at the lodge. After lunch you will relax until 4pm time for an afternoon game drive until 6:30pm. The reserve is rich in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Gravy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. Day 4. Samburu game reserve – safari from nairobi

Today you will have a full day spent in this magnificent game park. You can choose to go for a game drive or spend day at leisure. You will arrange the day program with your driver. Breakfast, lunch and diner are included. Overnight at Sarova Shaba lodge

They are pastoralists, particularly attached to their camels. Dinner & overnight at the campsite

Day 5. Samburu Game Reserve – Aberdares – Safaris From Nairobi

Today you will have an early morning game drive from 6:30am to 8am then back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, drive to the Aberdares National Park for game viewing at the ark. Lunch will be served at the lodge. Here you will view animals from the lodge deck. Animals include the leopard, elephant, East African wild dog, giant forest hog, bush buck, mountain reed-buck, water-buck, Cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, and Sykes monkey.

Rare sightings include those of the African golden cat and the bongo. The Aberdares National Park also contains a large eastern black rhinoceros population. Diner and overnight at The Ark lodge

Day 6. Aberdares – Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha – Safaris From Nairobi

You will have breakfast at the lodge then after breakfast you will depart for Lake Nakuru national park for game viewing. You will have a brief stop at the Equator for pictures as well. Lunch at Nakuru. After lunch you will proceed to Lake Naivasha for afternoon game viewing. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking,picnic and game drives. Diner and overnight at Naivasha Kongoni Lodge

Day 7. Lake Naivasha – Safaris From Nairobi

Today you will spend the whole in Lake Naivasha with optional boat ride at extra cost. Breakfast, lunch and diner will be served. There is no visible outlet, but since the lake water is relatively fresh it is assumed to have an underground outflow. The lake is home to a variety of types of wildlife including over 400 different species of bird and a sizeable population of hippo and flamingos. Diner and overnight at Naivasha Kongoni lodge

Day 8. Naivasha – Nairobi – Safaris From Nairobi

Today you will leave Naivasha after breakfast and drive to Nairobi arriving before lunch. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight or at the hotel of your choice.
